Recently..

I have been a busy bee, working as a freelance print designer for various companies alongside my Part-time position at Cath Kidston as well as attending a handful of work placements.

I feel that my personal style has developed and has become more commercial which I feel is what needed for me to break into this industry. I am currently looking for more work placement opportunities and commission work within the print and pattern design area, if you're interested please contact me via amy.mingkwan[@]gmail.com

New Design - Floral Field

Inspired by my love for the Summer and flowers all around me.

As usual, I have been busy job hunting and trying to find myself a work placement. This new design is different to all of the designs I've done previously but it still represents me and my personality. I hope you like it and please leave a comment and let me know what you think.

With love x

Tigerprint Female Photography Entries

I recently entered the Tigerprint's Female Photography competition, using the images I have taken during trips and vacations which I then used Photoshop to manipulate and edit them. The results are quite pleasing! One of my photographs was shortlisted and has made it in the top 24 :)

A little bit of photography fun..

In response to the new competition brief by Tigerprint, under the Female Photography theme, I have been practicing some photo-editing techniques in Photoshop on some of the images I've taken during my coffee shop project. I'm getting obsessed!

Here are a few I've whipped up so far and more to come!

What I've been up to..

Hello, it has been such busy couple of weeks for me with sending off my work which I've sold at the degree show and preparing for my placement. I'm delighted to tell you that I've been invited by my old college to carry out illustration workshops with the students in August. I am now working on creating my online portflio, I will be working with my good friend Holly Booth, at the end of July for a photoshoot of my wallpapers and crockery.

In the meantime, check out Rosmany Milner, a recent graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University who I've fallen in love with. Her work is so delicate and feminine, I'm so jealous!

Degree show

What an amazing experience! I was so overwhelmed by the whole experience and the success I've gained from the show. On the private view night, I won one of the awards given by Turner Bianca - textiles for the home company based in Oldham, who has also offered me a work placement! I can't wait to be working in their studio alongside other talented professionals.

Alongside this achievement, several companies and agencies also expressed their interests in commissioning me. I am so excited and can't wait to be working on these new projects in the near future.
